Directions: 1. Read over the essay "How to Make a Budget for Living on Your Own". Click Here 2. Then read over the article "The 50/20/30 Rule for Minimalist Budgeting". Click Here **************************************************** 3. With this information in mind, click on the RBC "Student Budget Calculator" link at: rbcroyalbank.com. 4. Follow the steps to determine the overall cost of your first year at college/university. Reference the tuition and "other fees" info on the Camosun/UVIC websites (or wherever you plan to attend) in order to accurately calculate your expenses. 5. Once you have figured out the total cost of your 1st year (hopefully you have a surplus) forward an electronic copy to me at either [email protected] or at [email protected]. Remind me which post-secondary institution you plan to attend - and the program you plan to take - so I can get a clearer understanding of your educational path, your expenses/costs breakdown, as well as any other useful information that explains your overall expenses and savings.
